Diversity in Education: Addressing the Shortage of Minority Teachers in the U.S.

America’s student population is rapidly growing at all academic levels. The student population is multi-cultured from the pre-schools to the college campuses. We can clearly see the demographical diversity among the student body, yet a multi-racial and multi-ethnic faculty is not primarily teaching our students. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of hiring minority teachers in education.
