The paper investigates the extent to which estate agents and realtors can assist in the implementation of government intiatives for low income home ownership in the UK and the US. The aims of the paper are to ascertain the views of estate agents in the UK and realtors in the US regarding the extent of their involvement in government low cost home ownership initiatives and whether they consider that they could be more involved in this sector of home ownership. In addition, public, social and voluntary housing organisations in the UK and US will be asked to consider whether estate agents and realtors could have a role to plan in the implementation of government led low cost home ownership initiatives and how this may be inntroduced in practice.
