This workshop will examine research and strategies to assist educators with retaining Black males for graduation. It will examine research that depicts Black males from a deficit perspective. The workshop will challenge educators to be change agents. It will consider the following topics when working with Black males: Brain Research, Gender Roles, Expectations. Finally, this workshop will briefly look at noncognitive variables as predictors for success.
